There and back again vol.1: London

"When a man is tired of London, he is tired of life; for there is in London all that life can afford"

- Samuel Johnson

There's this one place in the world that I fell in love with some years ago and still always dream of.

London is an amazing city, where I feel like I belong. It is true that I love everything british, so pretty much anything in GB can do, but London is special.

SO, here's a list of things to do while you are in London according to Silvia:

1. Get there by RyanAir, so you can land at Stansted and take a Terravision to London. As soon as the bus gets near the city centre, start to feel excited because it will travel near the Tower of London, Westminster and a lot of cool places before it gets to Victoria.

2. Book a cheap hotel a little bit out of the city centre: in the morning you will get on the tube with real Londoners that are going to work.

3. Go to Starbucks for breakfast....just a quick Caramel Macchiato to go and you are ready to hit the town.

4. Meet English people. Very English people. Very very English people.

5. Go to Harrods and pretend you can buy anything you want even though you are going to leave the shop with nothing more than little souvenirs every damn tourist can buy in London. Oh, and by the way, please get lost in the Toy Kingdom and the Christmas World!

7. Spend a fortune in tea and chocolate at Fortnum and Mason

8. Go see The Mousetrap at St. Martin's Theatre

9. Attend a BBC Proms night at the Royal Albert Hall, possibly with a £5 ticket

10. Go to Camden Town and visit Little Venice by boat...lovely relaxing trip and beautiful houses along the way!

11. Want the coolest dinner ever? Buy some food you love from the nearest Pret A Manger and eat it sitting on a bench under the London Eye while listening to musicians playing along the Thames at night.

12. Go shopping in Jermyn Street.

13. Visit the Sherlock Holmes Museum.

14. Spend hours at the National Gallery.

15. Go to Kensington and dream about getting a nice house like this one:

16. Take lots of photographs with really famous people...at Madame Tussauds.

17. See London from above: get a ticket for the London Eye and...cameras at the ready!

18. Go to Kilburn and spend the night in a really dark pub where really good singers/musicians play.

19. Walk a lot. Late at night.

20. Visit the Globe Theatre and be lucky enough to get in when there are the rehearsals going on.

Of course, there are a lot of other amazing things you can do in London. Find what suits you the most. And most importantly live the magic, vibrant atmosphere, enjoy yourself, live fully and HAVE FUN!
